Hey there,
It's Michelle – the person behind Moss Stone Studio, home of my traditional stone seal carving practice. You’re receiving this because you signed up for updates on my work. It was lovely meeting some of you at my recent exhibition – thank you for stopping by and spending time with my work. If we first met at an earlier workshop, thank you so much for continuing to follow along.
I love how seal carving opens up a world of poetry and stories, and those odd little gaps that arise when we move between languages and scripts. As a self-professed banana, I suppose this is my redemption arc: a slow process of reconnecting with my Chinese roots, and inviting others to explore their own relationship with heritage too.
I’ll be sharing bits of this journey with you via these occasional dispatches, alongside new workshop offerings and events. I hope you'll enjoy these glimpses of my studio in time to come.

Meanwhile, if you’d like to dig your hands into it sooner than later, I have a few slots still open for an upcoming workshop that I’m organising with the good folks at the Circular Fashion Hub in Jalan Besar. Here are the details:
Carve Your Own Name Seal: An Introduction to Chinese Stone Seal Carving
Saturday, 11 July, 2 - 5pm
Circular Fashion Hub | The Fashion Pulpit (298 Jln Besar, #04-00 Allenby House, Singapore 208959)
It’s completely beginner-friendly, and I’ll be providing everything that you’ll need to design and carve your own stone seal. All you have to do is show up.
If you’ve attended a workshop with me before and want to join us as a refresher, DM me! I’ll prepare a little extra something so you can further your practice.
I’d love to see you there. If not, no worries – I’ll still be here, stabbing at stones and sharing what emerges along the way.
Warmly,
Michelle
